Brentwood, PA – Residents of Brentwood are eagerly anticipating the annual 4th of July festivities, a highlight of the summer season that brings the entire community together. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone attending the "Battle of the Barrel" on July 3rd and the beloved 5K and 4th of July Parade on July 4th, important road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect.

Organizers remind everyone to plan their travel accordingly and be mindful of parking regulations to avoid inconvenience.
Details for the "Battle of the Barrel" - Thursday, July 3rd

The patriotic fun kicks off on Thursday, July 3rd, with the "Battle of the Barrel" event.

  • Event Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM (or until the end of the event)

  • Road Closure: Brownsville Road will be closed from Marylea Avenue to Munsey Avenue.

  • Closure Start Time: The closure begins promptly at 5:00 PM.

  • Parking Enforcement: Vehicles parked in this designated area on Brownsville Road after 4:00 PM will be towed. Please ensure your vehicles are moved well in advance.

  • Traffic Detour: Traffic will be detoured to Pary Avenue to Hillson Avenue to get onto Brownsville Road.
Details for the 5K and 4th of July Parade - Friday, July 4th

Friday, July 4th, promises a morning filled with the traditional 5K run and the highly anticipated parade, drawing large crowds to Brentwood's streets.

  • Event Time: 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM (until the end of the parade)

  • Main Parade Route Closure: Brownsville Road will be closed from Sankey Avenue to Route 51.

  • Closure Start Time: The main parade route closure begins at 8:30 AM.

  • Parking Enforcement (Brownsville Road): Cars parked on Brownsville Road along the parade route need to be moved by 7:00 AM on Friday, July 4th, or they will be towed.

  • Parade Staging Area - No Parking & Road Closures:

    • No Parking After 7:00 AM:

      • Brentwood Avenue to Waidler Avenue

      • Pyramid Avenue to Waidler Avenue

      • Clermont Avenue to Glendale Avenue

    • Roads Closed Starting at 8:00 AM:

      • Sankey Avenue

      • Brentwood Avenue to Waidler Avenue

      • Pyramid Avenue to Waidler Avenue

      • Clermont Avenue to Glendale Avenue

      • Churchview Avenue to Sankey Court

      • Churchview Avenue to Spencer Avenue

All roads mentioned for the July 4th events will remain closed until approximately 12:30 PM, following the conclusion of the parade.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to arrive early, utilize alternative routes, and consider walking or carpooling if attending the events. These measures are essential to ensure the safety of participants and spectators alike, allowing everyone to fully enjoy Brentwood's vibrant 4th of July celebrations.
To end this amazing day of celebration, be sure to stick around for the fireworks, beginning at approximately 9:30pm in Brentwood Park.
