2026 Garbage & Recycling Calendar

For trash collection, recycling collection, yard waste collection, and holidays. Please note that if the holiday is during a weekday, collections will be pushed back by one day for all days that follow for the week. Brentwood's streets are collected on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. For holidays that fall on Mondays ALL COLLECTIONS THAT WEEK will be pushed to Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Why County Hauling?

Brentwood Borough participates in the South Hills Area Council of Governments (SHACOG), a regional partnership that allows municipalities to secure trash and recycling services through a competitive bid—helping keep costs lower for residents.

Through this cooperative bidding process, Brentwood secured its current trash and recycling contract, which began on January 1, 2024.

All household trash must be placed in securely tied bags before being placed in your trash container.

  • Residential properties with three (3) or fewer dwelling units are required to use County Hauling

  • Commercial properties and buildings with four (4) or more units must independently contract with a licensed waste hauler

  • Trash and recycling service fees are included on the monthly sewage bill

  • Limited exemptions require an approved waiver
